Kona Blue is no more for the Fiesta ST. Such a shame given how pretty it was. Now there’s “Orange Spice”. A color so off-putting I can’t find many pics of an actual painted fiesta ST, just a bunch of poorly photoshopped renders. Oh well, it’s still the most fun you can have in a FWD car under 25k.

I like orange on a car, but only a true/flat orange. These different shades of “burnt” orange are all terrible.

Is the latter image the photoshop in question?

It could be the lighting, but it looks like a duller Tangerine Scream to me. Which kind of defeats the entire point.

Why they do that

The reason you haven’t seen many photos of the Orange Spice cars is because they just came out. In fact, the first few are finally arriving at dealers. Most customer orders (according to the forums) still look to be at least a couple weeks out.

In any case, here’s a dealer with one in stock . It’s curious that they didn’t take photos with better lighting... but at least it’s actual photos.

Do I think it’s better than Kona Blue? Well, no. But I think it’s a bigger blow to lose Molten Orange - even if that wasn’t my favorite either. Kona Blue is nice... in the sun. If you live somewhere where it’s sunny (or do a lot of daytime driving) and have the motivation to keep it clean, then great!

Somehow Ford keeps on making the color selection for the Fiesta ST worse and worse...

Also, can you do me a favor and try something with your car? Next time you are doing 60 plus, hit cruise, cancel with the button, then come to a complete stop, shift into second, and hit resume.

My car doesn’t fully cancel, even after a complete stop.

Most fun FWD car for under $25k, you missed one. The NISMO RS.

No I didn’t. I most certainly didn’t. The juke is just not a fun car outside of looks. *Maybe* the RS package changed everything, but the juke nismo doesn’t play nearly as much as the FiST does.

I don’t like the gloss black on the wheels. I wasn’t a fan of the dark gray but the gloss black is somehow worse. I like the old SVT focus wheels on the FiST. I want a set for winter tires soon.

I feel pretty much the same. I like the Rado Grey wheels (that’s what I have) but gloss black looks... cheap. Of course, I feel like gloss black wheels almost always look cheap. They usually end up looking like plastic to me. Flat black is better (and that’s what my winter wheels are).

SVT Focus wheels (the EAP ones) look wonderful on the Fiesta. I’ve got a set of the 16" multi-spoke Sparco wheels for autocross, which is just about the next best thing.

The RS package adds lots over the NISMO. A mechanical LSD, lots more chassis bracing, short gearing, Recaro Sportster CS’s, and better engine tune (218hp/210lb-ft). The NISMO is just body & suspension package.

Best color combo for the FieSTa will always be this

With orange interior.

You can get a low mileage 2015 Fiesta ST for about $12k. Why you would buy a new one with a depreciation curve like that is beyond me.

If everyone had that mindset, no one would have depreciated ones to buy. Plus, whoever gets my fiesta ST next (if they get it at all) is going to have a RAGGED one. I’m maintaining it, but it won’t be a perfect cherry when I’m done with it....if I’m done. Bought it new off the lot, and I am thinking of making it into an amateur rally car at 100k miles.

Because ford can’t make too many good decisions in a row lest they lose their magic. So hopefully by saddling great cars with bad colors, they keep making great cars.

But the RS starts at 28k. That’s nearing WRX money. And way beyond Focus ST money. Plus you’re at least 150lbs heavier in an RS, probably closer to 200 or more after some options. I’m sure it’s fun for a small SUV, probably the best in its class......but it’s still not a FiST.
